The Ford PC Government supports clean, renewable and affordable energy for all Ontarians.

Northwestern Ontario is rich in minerals and ripe for opportunities in the mining sector. Meeting the energy demands to accommodate the proposed mining activity in the region remains an energy planning priority.  To help achieve that, the Ford PC Government has committed to updating the 50-year-old environmental assessment program to enable expansions and changes to existing clean waterpower projects faster.

The Ford PC Government has also helped Ontarians by:

  • Lowering energy costs by 12% from 2018 levels. 
  • Reducing electrical costs to businesses by 15% to 17%.
