The Ford PC Government recognizes the First Nations as an equal partner in governing in Ontario.

The Ford PC Government has made the following investments:

  • $34 million over 4 years to increase enrolment in nursing and personal support worker programs at six Indigenous institutes, including the Wenjack Educational Institute in Thunder Bay and the Anishinabek Educational Institute in North Bay, with a satellite campus on Fort William First Nation.
  • Investing $36 million in mental health and addiction support in Indigenous communities, including $20 million for Residential School Survivor supports and $16 million for mental health and Indigenous-driven opioid strategy.
  • Taking action to address the overrepresentation of Indigenous children and youth in the care of children’s aid societies to ensure those children can remain closer to home and their traditions and culture.
